    Hi all,
After many weeks of reading entries in this forum and travelling all over the place to view various pj i finally came to a decision!
Yesterday i placed an order with Techtronics for a shiney new HS10.

I'd like to thank everyone on the forum for the high quality advice, and patients with newbies like myself!

I eagerly await delivery, which may take a liitle longer than i would like, as they are currently out of stock. :(

One thing which i found slightly bemusing whilst looking for the best deal on the HS10, are the vastly different prices. The most expensive being from Sony themselves. A full £700 more than Techtronics. Ok so the Techtronics price is an online purchase and Sony have to pay for their shop etc.

Can this difference be justified? I only feel sorry consumers who dont/cant shop around for internet prices.

    with that Malc,

out of interest what price did you pay at Techtronics? Is it near the Nexnix price?

from what I have seen, the HS10 is a great PJ and many owners here vouch for the PQ.

    El Capitan!

    Tectronics: £1685.01 ex vat.
    Nexnix: £1799 ex vat.

I did a fair amount of looking and found Techtronics to be the lowest.
Prc direct also came in at about £1685 but i went with Techtronics as i know people who have bought from them in the past.

There may be better deals around though! Also when the HS20 finally shows up we will hopefully see adrop in price of the HS10.

Apparently Sony Uk do not have release date for the HS20 over here as yet.

    Hi Malcolm,

Wellcome to the HS10 Club, I am sure you won't regret.
    For the best quality picture,consider driving HS10 from HTPC;
    It's a jaw dropping experience,

    Good Luck,

I'm about to take the HS10 plunge myself....

I spoke to Russell at Nexnix who says he's not going to sell any more due to the high number of returns...

So if I buy from Tectronics or AV-SAles should I get myself an extended warrentee or is the Sony warrentee just as good...

did you go for an extra warrentee Malcolm ?

    help ......

no i've not got an extended Warrentee.
That is a little worrying though.

I read that the first batches had a few problem which resulted in a high number of returns which put me off the HS10 at first.
However i inderstand that many of these problems have been solved.

    Fingers crossed!

I've Have cancelled my order from techtronics.

I found it difficult to assertain from them where the order was. Their innitial claim of a two week wait is now... two weeks, after a week. :suicide:

They were unhelpfull on the phone and i've lost confidence in them. I wondered if i would be given the same answer next week?

I phoned around and found that no one has an HS10 in stock.
However, Nexnix did have an ex demo machine they were selling.
    65 hours on the clock!

I cut my losses and the price and went for the Ex demo. Best of all i will recieve it tomorrow!

Kevin was very helpful and i have every confidence that the machine will be in top condition.

    Till tomorrow then!...

nexnix are a great company to deal with.

how much was the Hs10 from them?

One thing that may please you was when I met a guy who actually calibrates PJs for a living, he told me that typically, a bulb can take upto 50 hours to settle down, and during the first 50 hours it can change. If you calibrate from zero hours you would probably see a different image to a calibrated image at 50 plus hours.

So you should get an HS10 firing on all cylinders!!

let us know how it goes...

    Will do Skip,

    it was £1450 plus vat.

Granted it has 65 hours, but its still a saving of £1000 over the Sony retail price once vat is added.

Well worth it in my mind!
Nexnix do seem like great chaps.

I'll post over the weekend when i get it running! Cant wait!
