One of the seliing points of the harmony range is the ability to "remember" the status of devices, and to work out for itself which devices need to be switched on or off for specific activities. For my basic initial set-up, this worked really well, but I am now trying to get a bit more sophisticated, and I seem to be exploring the limitations of the devices intelligence. Specifically, it's not entirely clear to me whether the 885 can "remember" all power related commands. Two examples; I added my monitor and Screen Power on/off custom buttons to my Listen to CDs activity, to let me see disc contents (for MP3 disks and SACDs). But the 885 did not seem to recognise that I was changing the "status" of the monitor to. I had expected the 885 to recognise what I had done and to manage the switchover correctly to the next device, but it didn't, and I ended up with unpredictable results. I wanted to set up a Radio activity, but using the digital satellite radio stations on my PVR. having failed to be able to get the screen to be switchable (as above) I opted to start from a Watch PVR activity which has Favorite Channels, and then switch the monitor off at the start of the activity. But again, the 885 does not seem to recognise that it has sent a power off command and therefore gets confused when it switches to the next activity. Anyone know if there are defined rules for what the 885 does remember and what it does not?
