I wasn't that impressed as it seemed very flat lacking in depth with virtually no base - is it me ? or is its forte as a home cinema amp rather than stereo?

Also listened to the Arcam ?200 model £800 - excellent in stereo and in surround. far better than the Denon.

As Yoda says the Arcam is more musical but the Denon should have the edge for movies. The Denon shouldnt sound flat, they are pretty good for music.

At the end of the day buy what best suits you, its your money!!

After 4 years of a Sony STRDB925, my denon 2802 sounds fantastic for music. The sound it nice and weighty and pretty detailed.

Still prefere my old Sugden 2 channel amp for music though. Hand built in Heckmondwyke no less! Only 30 watts per channel but sounds a lot louder.
