Hi all, got my UE55D7000 yesterday and I love it.

I'm having a few problems with 3D though. I've plugged my PS3 directly into the tv because my amp isn't 3D compatible. I've only been able to get 1 disc to play in 3D so far though.

The tv doesn't seem to recognize Final Destination 3D as being a 3D disc :(

Piranha 3D, 2 discs came in the box. A disc with the 2D and 3D film on and a disc with the 3D only film on. The disc with both 2D and 3D works fine and by the touch of a button on the remote, I can switch between 2D and 3D. The disc with only the 3D movie on though, doesn't work :(

The tv doesn't recognize it as 3D and displays a blurred image.

I'm a 3D novice, so be gentle !

Try.... go into your PS3 menu and auto detect your TV so it can see it as a 3D device.

Yep done that, it's fine.

Both Final Destination and Piranha 3D come with the crappy cardboard glasses in the case, does this mean they won't work with my Samsung active glasses ??

No they won't work. You need a proper BluRay 3D disk to work with an active system. The films you have are in no way designed to work with 3D TVs.

Piranha comes with the cardboard glasses but also had a proper 3D disk, also of it is the new Final destination it should be 3D.

My receiver doesn't decode 3D so I set mine up with an hdmi cable to the tv from the ps3 and an optical cable from ps3 to my receiver. Shoves buy ray in and hit the 3d button on the remote if it doesn't come on automatically.

Putting on the 3D disk and switching on 3D should be all you need to do, also of i you use optical set ps3 to optical instead of hdmi for audio.

I've got a D8000 btw so should work same as mine.

Cheers for the replies. One of the Piranha discs does work, you're correct. Final Destination doesn't though. Is there any way of telling what discs will work with my tv ?

Does the Finial Destination have a Bluray & 3D hologram on the case?

Neither does but the Piranha one says Blu Ray 3D on the case.

Some people new to 3D do make mistakes when buying 3D movies for the first time.

The disc package should be clearer.
But then analyph 3D discs are old package.
Retailers should oblige in putting warning stickers in those old 3D packages.

I'll check on here before buying any 3d discs in the future I think.

If its The Final Destination (FD4) and not a US Import, it'll only be the red/blue version, not "proper" 3D that your Tv will recognise.

You need the US FD4 or the new FD5 for "proper" 3D.

Cheers, I'll be careful from now on !

Best thing to do is rent from Lovefilm before buying I think.

FD4 is a real cracker of a film in 3D so I'd look out for the proper version (the 3D is superb) :smashin:

I'll probably hire it from Lovefilm. Can't justify owning 2 versions of a god awful film ! lol

Bought Cars 2 and Saw 3D today, very impressed with my D7000 so far.

I've been waiting for a UK release of FD4, the US is still expensive everywhere
