    Hi,

Just got my Xbox and I'm going to be using my free 2 month XBL trial period pretty soon. Can anyone recommend any games that are worth me spending my hard earned money on?

Anyone also know of any sites which review Xbox games?

    Cheers,

    G

    Halo
    Project Gotham Racing 2

If I were you I'd buy these two and avoid everything else until Outrun 2. These two will give you hours of joy and, IMO, there's very little else on the Box as entertaining as these two fantastic games

    Hi G,

Depends on what sort of genre you like but any of the following are superb:

    Halo
    Splinter cell (Action stealth)
Splinter cell pandora tomorrow (Actio stealth)
Star wars knights of the old republic (RPG)
Deus ex in visible war (FPS/RPG)
    Project gotham racing 2
    Return to castle wolfenstein (FPS)
    Soul calibur 2 (fighting)
Prince of persia- sands of time (action adventure)
Indiana jones and the emerors tomb (action adventure)
    Max Payne 2 (action)
    Theif - deadly shadows (stealth)
    Tiger woods pga tour
Tom clancys rainbow 6, black arrow (squad based shooter)
    Chronicle of riddick (FPS)
    fifa football 2004

Xbox live favourites at the moment are:

    Full spectrum warrior
    splinter cell pt
    rallisport challenge
    rainbow six 3
    world championship snooker

    Happy gaming

you missed ninja gaiden out of your list :( .... a must!!! ;)

I use www.gamerankings.com for all my game reviews, they gather all the reviews from print magazines and online reviews with links so you can read em all either that or try www.teamxbox.com :smashin:

Burnout 3 when it comes out, should be a classic follow up to Burnout 2.

oh, and Soul Calibur II as well :smashin:

I agree played Halo last weekend (2 xboxes linked up) and it was excellent first time i had played the game and an X-Box and was really impressed.

Thinking about getting one now, just need to find a decent deal on the net of a local store.

not played PGR2 or Ninja Gaiden yet but my brother has both and says they are excellent.

My PS2 has died recently so im very tempted to purchase an xbox now.

Halo (Halo 2) and PGR2 go without saying. There's nothing I can add to these. Simply the best games of their kind on any platform IMO
Full spectrum warrior is immense. Even if you dont like the genre (which I dont) this game is still stunningly addictive. I loved it.
Splinter cell pandora tomorrow is the best stealth game there is. The first was excellent also, but this one is a bit better IMO
Ninja Gaiden is also phenominal. The gameplay and graphics are out of this world, but dont play it if your a ponce, 'cos its rock hard ;)
Chronicles of Riddick is quite simply the best movie-spinoff game ever made. Also great fun.
If you like sports titles then Tiger woods is pretty good, as is Links, but my recommendation would be Top Spin Tennis. Great fun on your own and via Live.

Simply put, Xbox ownz all platforms at the minute

Very good list so far, would pretty much agree with LDJ but would also add Rallysport 2 as it is a great racing game.

    Thanks for all your comments.

Based on this and through checking out the reviews of each of those games, I’ve narrowed it down to just 5 games in order of preference:

    Ninja Gaiden - £29.99
    Halo - £14.99
    Soul Calibar II - £12.99
    Top Spin - £27.99
    Project Gotham Racing - £21.99

So there’s my hit list. The prices quoted are from www.gamestation.co.uk and are for pre-owned games.

Does anyone know where I could pickup the same games cheaper?
I don’t mind if they are 2nd hand or not.

    Cheers,
    G

Gagan, if you are in Leeds, check out Arcadia, pref the Armley branch (0113 231 9845) as their 2nd hand stuff is pretty cheap, and also, they do chipping (60 quid with EVO X and a load of other stuff on there) which is guranteed!

Thanks for the info. I'll give Arcadia a call.

As for thatzdvd.com, they seem really cheap, possibly too good to be true. All 3 DVD's that I tried to buy were unavailable so I had to select the "notify me" option, has anyone ever purchased anything from them and would they do so again in the future?

    Cheers,
    G

Thatzdvd is a second hand site, I have had no probs at all, and I have had loads of stuff from them, if you are not happy with it send it back and they give you a full refund!
