Hiya all,

Having just got myself my 1st PJ, a AE100, I am into the install stage, I was hoping to mount it on top of a lounge unit, but its too high and the piccie projects onto the ceiling, I have been trying to find the correct height distances etc, but to no avail, anyone out with the same problem before and now all up and running,

Sort of sorted,

A new question.

Having mounted the pj and the screen, I seem to have a run out on the bottom of the screen, ie say 43" at the left and 45" at the right, the top seems to run level, also on the left and right sides of the screen, the picture seems to run at a angle widening at the bottom of the picture, if I use Ketstone the angle goes, but the light at the back of the picture is still there.

Any Ideas, will try and post some piccies up later when I find some webspace, lol

Thanks

Taz

is the projector is turned upside down? as this would bring the picture down.

Hi m8, not tried that way yet, will thou, thanks

Also, how far does the PJ have to be away from the wall ?

Cheers

Thanks HD, tried the calc, I now need to find alternative mounting arrangements, at its current position on the top of the unit upside down, I got a nice size piccie in the right spot, but its wider than my 2m wide screen, lol, so it looks like I will have to make a ceiling mount to bring the PJ closer to the wall.

Hi m8, had a look around and they cost about £180, dont really fancy paying that at the mo, the Screen is a wall mounted one, I suppose I could make up some brackets to hang from the ceiling,

Taz,

There are links in the FAQ for diy mounts and a link to Timh's AE100 owners thread (all 65 pages, a monster !) where you'll probably find everything you ever wanted to know about the AE100.

Enjoy your new toy.................

Taz69,

I assume you've tried using the projector's zoom function to reduce the picture size? Might do the trick if you haven't tried it yet.

Hi Guys,

Kramer I tried the zoom on the remote, but it only seems to zoom in i'e making the characters etc bigger on screen, at the moment I have mounted the PJ and the screen but the picture is slightly bigger than the screen, about 3inches either side, also I have had to use Keystone to counteract the slant on the picture,

Thanks

Have you tried the "manual" zoom? i.e. the "outer" ring just behind the focus ring? These are on the lens.

Just thought you may have overlooked that.

As Kramer says, adjust the Zoom, if it arrived as my 300 did then its set at max

If you stripped out or rewrote the problem saves having to go back and trawl through the thread to make sense of what and what hasnt been answered.

Just my advice.

Taz69 - agree that it's a confusing way to ask a question...............

It looks to me as though you're getting a little distortion - is the image at full zoom? This can sometimes cause a little distortion.... The other possibility is that the screen isn't perfectly vertical in both planes, if you know what I mean.................. the bottom right part of the screen could be further away from the PJ than the bottom left half........
