For Xbox as its the closest im going to get to air combat / MSFS combat series.

Seems pretty good so far, some nice graphics and manic action.

    Any Q's please ask.

I like the idea of it, although I'm a bit concerned it'll be another of those chase the little dots on the radar games.

    What's the game play like?

Considering the game's time-period (1940s, isn't it?), I'd have thought - indeed, hoped - that was anything but the case, JUS.

    Anything more to tell, Taz?

I'm now on Mission 10, after a few struggles with a couple of missions, and I still like it...... I think there are 15 main missions, but with all the sub missions, it comes to over 35.....

It is very much an arcade type gaming experience. There is a story you follow, starting in 1938, then on though the war. You are an American "over here"...... you start off with a Hurricane, and can win planes by completing missions, or stealing them from the enemy. All planes are upgradeable, in areas of engine, armour, weapons etc.....

It starts off with the usual training challenges, which eases you in gently. Then it's off doing things like dog fights, escorting allies through the country protecting them as you go, and at the monent I am escorting tanks to an enemy base to steal a secret weapon.

You don't spend all your time in a plane, sometimes you take up position in an AA gun and shoot planes down from the ground.

IMHO I think it's much like Air Comabat on the PSOne, although obviously better.....

It's a game that you can either pick up and play one mission, or sit down for a 5 hour session....... I have done both with ease.

There are some hard parts, but once you find a way through it, it does spur you on to the next level....

There are "follow the dots on the radar" elements, but at no point do you rely totally on the radar, it really is there as a helping hand.....

I'd give it a good 8 out of 10 overall......

Included in the game...(from game FAQ)

Did anyone else notice that on the Ju88 mission where you have to destroy the transport ships there is a line from Return of the Jedi? When you fall in with the Ju 88 formation, the guy you are flying with tells you to "Keep your distance, but don't look like you are trying to keep your distace...Just fly casual."

    :D
