I've had several models recommended to me by retailers, probably the favourite at the moment is the JVC DMR10 but it doesn't fulfil all of my requirements.

    I need:

    Firewire input
    Progressive Scan
    Component Outputs
    RGB in (for Sky Box)

    Any suggestions?

I was thinking about the Panasonic range but I read on here that they have slow response times which REALLY annoys me! But I've not really demo'd anything yet.

Sound and Vision recommended the JVC but I don't think it has RGB input for the Sky - will it make that much difference if it's just S Vid?

Budget about £300 but pretty flexible.

As you observe the JVC lacks RGB Input so I would avoid unless you quite tight on your budget.

The Panasonic E65 meets all those requirements for a little over £300. Highly recommended.

Have you considered a HDD/DVDR combo: the Toshiba RDXS32 also meets all your requirements for around £400 and offers great features and functionality. See the review thread here.

Thanks a lot, I'll give both of them some consideration.

Just need to convince the missus now......

I'm sure my body could function on just one kidney couldn't it?
