You probably need a FTA card from the BBC (if the TV's got a card slot), or you need to register your TV with them. Something like that. You can't get BBC Digital FTA channels without telling them you want it.

    is that so???

I thought the point of FTA (freeview) is that you dont need any card/subscription
if you have a set top box
    or an IDTV

    Any body can comfirm above

You definitely do not need to register or anything like that to get FTA channels.
I bought my Philips 28DW9625 and it just picked them all up straight away with no problems.

I've got the 32" version of the same set, and it's a terrible set. Way too many problems with the image in the 32" model. Philips should be prosecuted somehow in my eyes.
