So I've just received a second hand wii u which I bought off eBay. I didn't buy new as the pricing seems a bit steep at the moment. Anyway, it turns out that the wii u has a parental pass code lock on which I can't get access to, and a Nintendo ID that I can't remove or change. I emailed the seller who said he was a trader so he didn't have the passcode. I phoned Nintendo customer support who were very helpful and are sending me out a postage label for me to send the wii u in and they will remove the account from it, and send it back to me, all free of charge. It seems like a bit of a faff to send it off for a week or so to remove the account, so I was wondering, what would I be gaining by sending it off? I gather that I would lose any previously purchased games? Also are there any security issues with it being linked to another email address? Ie can I buy stuff from the store safely or will the previous owner receive emails about my purchases? Thanks to any one with any knowledge!
