Christ its like I have a new PJ:D

While I was happy till my financial problems subsided and wait to buy a doubler, I was offered a Iscan Plus (ntsc only) for a very cheap price so took the plunge to see what the differences where.

It took me a while to set up a new block and then converge it, but my god what a difference! Coulors are rich and natural with no chroma delay, and the 3:2 detection is spot on, infact I was hard pushed to find any artifacts at all.

So I proberly can't feed myself this month, but boy does that picture look sweet!:D

I think the 800 / Iscan are a good match too and well worth the investment for any one who is just feeding standard video line rates to their projector.

    Power supply still working? ;)

It sounds like an excellent set up Phil.
I'm a big fan of the iscan. I think it's an awsum peice of kit for the money. I too had the iscan plus (NTSC only). I have just recently managed to get some cash together and I've upgraded to the iscan Pro.

I was first introduced to the iscan my Alan Roser who recommended the unit just over two years ago. I was blown away by the difference it makes. One of the tests that Alan advised was to play Private Ryan on DVD and pause at the scene where the camera pans in close on Ryan's eye at the opening of the film.

I switched from the up converter on the projector to the iscan and I couldn't believe the amount of detail with the iscan. You can see every wrinkle, and pimple. Flesh tones are more realistic and colours are more accurate.

Another recommended test to check the 3/2 pull down is to look at the football stadium scene in video essentails. With out the iscan when the camera pans across the stadiums it shimmers. When the iscans engaged the inverse telecline works a treat and the result is a solid image with no jitters. Fantastic!

    Hi Tex
Good to see your still buying and striving for Nirvana.
Just been looking at your photos at Yahoo.
Who's that handsome chap in the green giving Roland a few tips about the install of a Barco CRT?
    Take Care

    Thanks Jeff,

I doubt it will ever match your room, but I keep striving for the best can manage. Keep in touch, and how about a North east travelling contingent for Event 2 this year?

As for the Handsome bloke in the pics with Roland, I had another look and just cant see him:confused: :kisses: :D :D

I cant divulge at the mo as I'm superstitious and paranoid about my first self import attempt( I think some Dutch guy is going to run off with my deposit).
I can say its not much bigger than a 1209s and costs just a bit more.
