Completely agree with your review, although 5/10 is way to generous.
I’ll never watch the 4K disc.

Same here. Found it tough going getting to the end. 4/10
I think I'm done with what seems like a Jurassic merry go round..

I'm not saying this film was forgettable, but I did have to ask my kids if I had actually seen this yet. Turns out I took them to the cinema to watch it (and bear in mind that I've only seen about 4 films at the cinema this year), that's how much of an impression it left.

Personally I enjoyed it at the cinema and then again on the 4K disc. It's an 8/10 for me.

Me too! It's great being me, whenever I hear of a blockbuster that's getting poor reviews, or the film crowd are saying don't see it, I more often than not have a great time with it! Luckily the Mrs is the same.

Love an entertaining, switch your brain off film where no analysis of the main protagonist is needed, but this just plain stank the cinema out. Plot is awful, pacing is terrible and dinosaurs lost their scare factor.

      Yeah it's garbage.

      3/10 is generous.

Agree with what has mostly been said.
The trailers completely ruined the film for me.
No tension in any of the scenes at all (unlike the first JP when it came out, what an experience that was !)
Bad plot and hilariously stupid action sequences.

And I’m usually a sucker for these type of films.

I hadn't seen it and bought the 4k disc and have to say I enjoyed the Jurassic theme again, they are pretty much all the same film but the dinos never get old for me. Have to say the picture on this disc is exceptional - probably one of the best I've seen.

Sampled the DV having seen it on HDR10. Barely any difference. This is the first one I have come across wherein the DV looks identical to HDR10.

I picked up the Sainsbury's exclusive DVD for the bonus disc (DVD). I was concerned that it would be a waste of 15 quid, but now I realise that it has saved me a tenner on the 4K. Which I won't be buying.

Nice looking BD, but a terrible film. After the first 30 minutes or so, which I actually quite enjoyed - despite none of it making any sense :)

Film is popcorn entertainment, but the sound is reference. No way should it be less than 10/10. Best sounding film I’ve put through my system.

I am in the ‘enjoyed It’ camp.
Ok it’s not as new as all the others, but it never could be.
I thought the picture was fantastic, the Atmos amazing and the film a half decent popcorn flick.
I want a film to take me away from reality, so I can sit and watch it without having to think too hard. This film give me just that.
      It was predictable but enjoyable.

But then again I enjoyed Skull Island and The Great Wall for similar reasons.

As others have said the picture on this disc is just PHENOMENAL pure reference on my E6.
A silly movie but bloody good fun and a show off disc for OLED.
      Enjoyed it too.

How did you watch in DV? I thought the UHD was HDR10 only

From the review "encoded using the HEVC (H.265) codec for HDR10 and Dolby Vision."

So is the difference between watching this in HDR10 vs DV unnoticeable to the eye?

Both versions looked identical to my eyes.

The Matrix DV was better than the HDR10 counterparts.

I think we should have a thread dedicated specifically to UHD titles that look definitely better in DV vs those that only look marginally better-or the same-as HDR10

I think we should all either buy the HMV 4k steelbook version* or the solo 3D Blu-ray purely to support universal for having the sense to put an immersive soundtrack on a 3D film.
There not many 3D films that come out now with an immersive soundtrack.

(*HMVs 4k steelbook also includes the 3D Blu-ray)

Demo picture and sound and a script written by a computer or a 3 year old.

Some good bits but some really bad bits - it could have been so much better.

Continues the pattern of each Jurassic Park film being worse than the last one (I like the first 3, 4 was a bit meh)

Looked and sounded superb, really impressed, I liked the film up to a point, some really good moments, the opening scene being one.

But some really odd moments, the auction characters and the obsession with the new JW films and weaponised Dinosaurs, I love the first two JP movies, seom of my all time favourites, but I do hope the next one they make is the last.
