I cant seem to find this anywhere, is it out of print? or is there somewhere I can get this?
out of print.. prepeare to pay through the nose for a copy.. though JP3 superbit is still available..
Oh well, do you think it would be re-released anytime soon?
Oh but it is worth it.
1&3 are good films in their own right, PQ is excellent throughout, but its those DTS mixes that steal the show.
Start saving for a new subwoofer now, 'cos they'll get the better of it.
Ive got to find a place to et it from first
Got my boxset (not sure if its korean/japanese/chinese - all looks the same to me) from eBay for £14.
is this legit?
there is a R1 version with dts. (collectors ed?? )i'm not sure if the bit rate is half or whatever but its the bee's knee's to my ears!!
dont get R2. i dont think its available with dts
ive got the r1 dts version, but want the r2 (japan) version
That's the one I have. (actually, I have the 3 dvd version without the bonus disc).
It might not look legit, but trust me, it is superbit in PQ terms and most definately DTS (the 8-10Mbps rate on my dvdp would seem to confirm this).
Be warned though, their that price for a reason. They are usually factory off-cuts or runs that didn't meet QC standards. The seller sent out replacement discs very quickly for my Alien quadrilogy boxset though.
found this for ya http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=60868&item=6332365398&rd=1#ebayphotohosting
hope that solves your problem
I would double check this is genuine japanese, there have been a lot of HK/malasian boot legs of this on ebay. The genine japanse dvd comes in a clear amaray case with double sided art, the disc is golden colour and it has a plastic sleeve that goes over the dvd case. A genuine japanese copy cost quite a lot to import in the first place so expect to pay top dollar!
No, that's a HK bootleg.
Yeah, had a feeling it might be.
I can honestly recommend it though. As I said before, it looks and sounds the business (in fact, one of the best superbit titles I own). Not bad for a bootleg!
The superbit doesn't have a superior picture to the R2 standard edition.
I reviewed it a while ago, with a comparison to the R2 edition: http://www.totaldvd.net/cgi-bin/dvdreviews.php?reviewid=9965
The Japanese superbit has a half bitrate DTS soundtrack, be careful buying any R1 copies with DTS, and there are shedloads of uncorrected soundtracks out there too.
It certainly looks and sounds better than the standard R1 DTS version. Never owned the R2 so can't comment
You're right there, I also reviewed the R1 DTS edition here.
Well, to my untrained eyes the bootleg superbit looks superb. That standard R2 must be something special
