What is going on with the main menus on Jurassic Park and Lost World DVDs? They only appear to look correct at a 4:3 aspect ratio (the logo is circular and the dinosaurs are the right shape)- yet the films themselves are 16:9 - is this a screw up? or am I doing something stupid with my DVD player?

    Alan,

No probs with my REGION ONE DTS (!) copy. ;-)

Seriously though, what region disc is it?

It's the Region 2 double pack. As I said it seems to be the main menus that look wrong at 16:9, but the actual movies are fine.

A great many discs have non-anamorphic menus, it's nothing to worry about but quite irritating nonetheless.

Just been reading an interview with Van Ling (Abyss, T2:UE, forthcoming T1:SE) who always trys to do anamorphic menus.
