I'm connecting both via an HDMI cable. However, I've recently tried to play the 'Pirates of the Carribbean' DVD via the 1080p upscaling and the video playback judders quite a bit. Is there a way to stop this? I've tried changing the hdmi output to 720p and 540i, but no luck, the image still judders. According to the tv specs there is something there called "Dejuddering - Yes (HD/SD)". I then found out that its down to frame rate. Is there a way to change the blu ray DVD output so that it matches the TVs 50hz, or is there a way to change the TV outout so that it matches the 24hz of the blu ray player. ALso, I changed the cable to use phono to scart, still the same juddering.
Any help would be much appreciated

Think I had the same problem as you, ordinary dvd's juddering on my ps3. My solution is to switch off the 1080p 24fps thingy on your br player..the 24fps is meant for br disks and not dvd's .By all means upscale, but if your player automatically processes both 1080p and 24fps together, then upscale only to 1080i, Drac

Could this also be due to the DVD itself? I was having tremendous juddering problems with 'Pirates of the Carribbean' at 1080p/24fps. I've just checked 'The fellowship of the ring - extended edition' at 1080p (manually set, not auto) and it works fine - no juddering images (just got to the part when the Nazgul ride out). I'll check with a few other DVDs and post my results. Please remember that these are all PAL Region 2 DVDs.
If anyone else has noticed anything like this please let me know.
