Rented out their live in london dvd and all i could say was it was brill. Before this dvd i`ve never listen to priest with ripper and now i feel he got a bit of a rough time with the band. They all seem to get along together but i feel the metal press and some fans keep thinking that he was copying halford in voice. To my ears he sounded better and was a good front man and got the crowd behind along the show. I feel sorry for him and i hope he does well on he own. how does other fans feel about the ripper. P.S Did priest have any say or links to the film rockstar which was loosely based on them.
I'm pretty sure Priest had no say in Rockstar as there's none of their songs in it and no mention of them in the credits even though it's obviously about them! As far as 'Ripper' goes it's like Blaze singing for Maiden, a good effort but not the real deal! If there's any Priest fans that haven't seen Rockstar then let me know as I've got a spare region one copy to sell or trade.
Check out Ripper on ICED EARTH's "The Glorious Burden" album his vocals are alot better with iced earth as they let him use his vocal range. Where as with preist they wanted someone to sound just like halford.
