Could somebody please explain what it does and roughly how much they cost.

I have seen this term used many times and think it addresses my 3 x Component AV devices (Sky+, DVD, PS2) for my soon to be purchased PWD8 dilemma.

Have a look on the JS web site, I think it only handles 2 devices though, but i think you can 'dasiy chain' them.
