I want to buy a dvd player or wait for recorder that will display my hi-res jpegs on cd-r with the same high resolution as the picture I get when I freeze-frame a superbit dvd which looks fabulous on a 36 inch Toshiba tv.

I have tried cheap slideshow software but have not been satisfied with the result, especially knowing the jpegs are at a higher resolution than a superbit dvd to begin with.

Also the Denon 3800 and A1 will show PhotoCd and .jpeg files from CDR/RW.

Quite effective, and on my 3800 at least shows up especially well in progressive scan. I would say the quality exceeds that of DVD freeze frames.

At the other end of the sale Scan have been selling a £139 player which also shows PhotoCD.
