Joining component cables

Anyone know if this can be done without problem - say using RCA female adapters?

Just got a Zinwell Brite View Prog scan converter and the 1080 output to Panny 500 is SVGA type socket but component in on the Panny.

The unit comes with an SVGA to component cable, but only a short one and I have cabling in the ceiling already!

Any other alternative to get 1080 signal from box to PJ most welcome.

Cheers

One can certainly get in-line phono female-female connectors, I've used them in the past for studio equipment patching, though I'm sure someone will say that using them is a bad idea due to the noise they could introduce.

If replacing the cable in the ceiling is not an option I'd suggest a new short adapter cable with RCA Females on one end - not overly expensive (I'd use/supply VanDamme) and saves on the back to back adapters which are usually pretty low quality and means two interconnections.

Best regards

Joe
