Joining componenet cables with a proper connector

Distinguished Member
The risk you run by joining two different pieces of cable together is impedence mismatches.

This is partly caused by the fact that there are no true 75ohm phono connectors available - although the Canare ones come close.

The best way to join them would be to cut all six plugs off at the location of the join and fit BNC connectors instead. You could fit male ones to one cable and female to the other, or use male on all six with couplers.

Having said all that - you might have no problems at all just joining them together with some phono couplers. I'd try it first.
