Thanks to everyone for their help (especially HD)

Will be posting pics for the project. I will be mounting it over the fireplace and hiding the wires behind the plasterboard.
    I will be connecting:

    PC > VGA
Harmon Kardon DVD 25 > Component
    XBox > Hi-def kit

    Should be fun.....

no woories Mal just to say that you have 2 component devices, Xbox HD and DVD25 so have you got Component switching? also if burying cables in wall thorw a scart and an HDMI in there too (if the ES-10 is black I'll take it;) )

I tried Discount electrical, £2149, no stock :(

I was just going to swap over the component leads mabually when I needed to  How much is a switcher?

My xbox is RGB at the moment, I plan to get the hi-def kit.
I won't bury the wires straight away, I am getting a 3m component lead and 5m VGA cable from mark grant, thats setting me back £150

I can't really afford to throw in a SCART and a HDMI as I need 3m lengths, may just leave some space.

    Why black ES-10?

I had the same experience from totaldigital today - the guy was way too laid back. However, the person I spoke to yesterday was much nicer :D

I think you're right, how much would the ES-10 be worth?

I will just mount it for now and see what else I need, is that SCART any good for £20?

I think I will need to do some more overtime

The geezer at RGB direct, where I ordered mine from said it sounds a bit dodgy, as UK stock should have free ES10 with it, I would check...

is your xbox modded as i thought hi def was disabled for pal xboxs-or would
component give better results over rgb scart with optical out-
is this the component cable you would buy IXOS XPX04 - Xbox to 5x Phono Cable - Component Video & Audio - 2m

I modded my xbox ages ago but have never used it as I have been on Live.
Don't know much about it to be honest - I haven't got the hi-def cable yet.
    Component should give better results.

This is the component cable I will be getting, supposed to be the best:

    Hi
After having seen the 42 pv500 in the flesh ive decided to change my order from the 37'' to the 42" its cost me £2350 thats with free dvd recorder pedestal stand installation 3 years warranty not a bad price from shop@panasonic.
Just the wait thats killing me.
    Cheers Gonzo. :)
Ps my nearest viewing position (sofa 1) is 8' with the furthest being 15'(sofa 2) so think the 42" should be ok.

    Hi all,

Well I also have taken the plunge and decided to buy a PV500. I bought it from Cheap Electricals at the price of £2200 with the Cabinet, but no DVD Player. I was just wondering if anyone else has used these guys before and have any beef with them. I'll keep you all posted on my progress.

Mate, I am not sure if that is true as I am sure that someone has already bought from Total Digital and it was definitely the PV500B.

Also, Currys and Dixons don't offer the free ES-10 either and I am sure they are UK stock ?

Just seems very hit and miss at the moment. It is not good when these companies don't treat you good, especially when you are spending that amount of money.

I will be getting one of those, don't need it yet but might as well bury it in with the rest.
The price was OK, I might have been better of getting the one from Panny Leicester for £2300 with 3 yrs warranty but it is most likely to go wrong at the beginning - I will prob just stick it on the house insurance.
Once you start ringng round to buy, you realise most of the retailers habven't even got it in stock, bit frustrating.
Pics coming soon, just waiting for the phone call to arrange delivery - it was too late last night for them to put the credit card through.

    Looking like next week :(

Sounds like the same as me, I guessed it would be cheaper just to move the couch a couple of feet closer when watching movies than to get a 50"...

Got my 42pv500 from total digital 2 weeks ago at £2250 inc floor stand.

Guys I dealt with were fine. Answered all my questions and seemed to know their stuff. Guess it's luck of the draw who you speak to.

The way demand is exceeding supply on this panny I guess some folk will get a bit arrogant as they don't even have to try to sell it.

Also definitley UK model (B). Checked all the ref numbers I could find and double checked with a friend who bought his from a Panny shop. Both of us have the same beast, my credit cards just a little lighter than his.
