John Lewis' dead pixel policy

    I just read the JL extended guarantee description and one of the exclusions is :-

    "Pixel spots. Tiny dark or bright spots which may be visible anywhere on the screen"

    Is this the same as a "dead pixel" and if so isn't this quite a major exclusion?

    Yes, it is "dead pixel", but I wouldn't say it is that big a deal being excluded from the warranty.

    Dead pixels rarely, if ever, develop during the life of the set. They are either dead when you first turn it on, or it's OK.

    You'll have the option on arrival to fight for replacement or refund of any dead pixels that may exist, subject to JL's / the manufacturers standard policies.
