I loved friends but gave up on Joey after 5 episodes it just wasn't funny, at least to me:)

I expect there is still some mileage in the US not only on network but eventually syndication which is why many netowrk shows appear on R2 years before a R1 release.

That seems to be the general consensus from people I've asked too!

A big let down for me. Joey was my favourite out of the Friends cast. I think Joey will be canned soon.

    Hi,

Joey has been moderately enjoyable, but nowhere near as good as it should have been.

Season 2 has been approved in the US, but is likely to be the last, unless it significantly ups its ratings.

As for the DVD, the Season 1 set will be out in the UK by the end of August, but will not be out on Region 1 DVD for at least another year, due to the fact that the show is syndicated in the USA.

I hope that "Two And A Half Men" gets a DVD release - as that is class! :)

Joey is OK, but not nearly good enough for me to fork out for a massively overpriced R2 set when I know there will be a much cheaper (and probably better) R1 set within the next year.

£49.99 RRP for a 3-disc, 24 episode series? What are they trying to pull?

    Too right.
Easily the best sitcom from the US in the last couple of years.

I'll second that - its absolutely superb!! I've read somewhere that Martin Sheen is going to be making a guest appearance at some point in the future. Presumably when he retires as President??

play are doing it for £38 delivered...Alan L is right that £50 is OTT for this.

    Hi,

Most shops seem to be retailing the "Joey" boxed set for about £37-£38, so you're not saving that much, than by ordering it from "Play.

However, I'd avoid the UK boxed set for two reasons:
    1) There are only 3 discs in the set, and Warners have used double-sided flipper discs, rather than dual-layered discs!

    2) There are absolutely no extras whatsoever on the set! You get the episodes only, and that's all!

As such, wait and see what the R1 set eill be like, which I expect will get cast and crew interviews, commentaries, and other similar extras.

Warner's seem to be making a real mess of their boxed-sets! Cardboard covers, then Babylon 5 sets had problems, so did Crusade, and now Joey being sold on flipper-discs. :suicide:

I would expect the differences between the R2 and R1 sets will be similar to 'Friends', with the R2 set being a shoddy 3 x flipper disc set, and the R1 set being a nicely-packaged 4-disc set with extras and extended episodes. I wouldn't expect to have to pay much more than £20 for an R1 set.
