    Joan Of Arc on DVD.

I'm really interested in the story of Joan Of Arc and wondered what the 1999 films were like. I never saw the Besson version because it got a critical slamming when released, and I haven't seen the award winning TV version starring Leelee Sobieski either. Which (if any) is worth getting? What are the films like? What are the DVD's like?

    Thanks.

I have it on DVD after seeing it on rental (Besson version)I've pretty much given up reading reviews, although I thought it wasn't quite as coherent and compelling as say 'Elizabeth' I do think it had some interesting stuff and ideas. The visuals were fabulous and the dream/hallucination seqences reminded me very much of Ken Russell's stuff. I don't buy too many DVD's but I got this one, so that's a recommendation from me. You can get it quite cheap on ebay secondhand. Hope this helps <img src="smile.gif" border="0">
