Does anyone know what exactly is covered in the JL 5 year warranty??

I'm after the PV500 but the Trafford centre want to charge me £85.00 delivery. For this reason I'm now considering buying elsewhere, (if I can find one). Is their 5 year warranty really worth having??

It's free after all so it's better than not having one. Having said that if you can find the model for say around £300 cheaper elsewhere incl delivery and you're OK with paying for an extended warranty or not having one at all, you have just as much consumer rights without one you know, then you might want to try that approach. Don't forget JL do offer excellant customer service in most cases so you do pay a premium for that.

I live about 25miles from the JL Trafford store and as part of the deal I'm getting free delivery - £2249 + the free dvd rec. Have they explained why £85 - it would be worth picking it up yourself for that price!!
    Regards

Really need a TV now, I'm bored viewing my 17" Sony LCD in the conservatory...............

Where can I get one????? !

I thought that is didn't include accidental damage but included everything else - except screen burn and that dead pixals.

Crazy Paul-get back on to your local JL and and ask for the undersellers, they will match the price of any other JL store.Another option is to find a better deal at another retailer and and get JL to pricematch(remember the 5yr warranty is free).Loads of members have saved shedloads of cash by making a few phone calls including myself.
Do a search on this forum.

The JL warranty seems pretty good for me. It covers most faults and not just accidental damage (which it prob doesn't cover as your household insurance should cover that).

I got a 42pd7200 from JL and they price matched Richer Sounds at £1995 but charged me £60 delivery. The delivery fee is a rip off as all deliveries come from the nearest warehouse anyway. However I thought it fair enough as I was getting the plasma for £2060 and the 5 yr warranty means a lot to me.

You can get the 7200 cheaper at around £1850 but for me the £2060 price match with the 5 yr warranty makes the extra couple of hundred quid worth it by far.

By the way it's a superb machine!

I think the cheapest way is to look on Currys website where it is £1982. Use an Egg credit card to buy it online + get 5% off making it £1883 (I was guessing at the calculation earlier).

I'd still rather pay that bit more and go to JL for £2k.
