it's one of those 'blair witch' love them or hate them type films... personally i think the extras give a greater appreciation of what the director was trying to do and makes the second half more exceptable. Personally I think it's quality and worth owning for the first half alone. No horror film has come close to producing such an effective first half in years.

I agree that the first part was well done. Very creepy. But as soon as the bad guy came into view it lost its creepiness and became more a horror film. Not necessarily a bad thing but it was just so much better being creepy than being horror.

Still, not a bad movie all round. I would watch it again.

Have to agree with you jag, first half, very well done and very creepy, the second seemed rushed!

Not a bad film at all.

The films first half is very creepy, second half is a turd. IMO a major let down. I'm so glad I only rented it.

Well I watched it last night and I loved it. It's one of the best films in its genre. The fact that it's a monster movie rather than a straight out slasher movie made it all the better in my mind, yet despite this it still had elements that reminded me of all the old slasher horror movies that I used to love like Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm St etc.

    THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS SPOILERS..................

There's lots of nice little touches in the movie too that made it more enjoyable for me. For example, lots of people moan about the ending - but the black woman had a vision of Darry crying while Jeepers Creepers played in the background, which actually turned out to be blood in his eye sockets that looked like tears - great!!

Another nice touch was the BEATNGU registration plate at the start. They read it as BEATING YOU, but when the black woman says "no, it's not" and you learn a bit more about what the Creeper is actually doing, you realise that the registration plate was actually BE EATING YOU! Lovely!

In one of the deleted scenes, you see that they were gonna have the Creeper talk when he killed the old woman with the cats ("Darry, she don't smell too good") - glad they cut that as to have the Creeper actually speak would've killed things a bit. Definitely more creepy when he doesn't speak at all :)

    ............END OF SPOILERS

As I say, fantastic movie for its genre! Also reminded me a bit of an Outer Limits episode. Glad I ignored the reviews and just went for this baby!! :D
