Guys, according to BluRay.com, all three sequels will arrive on BluRay this June.

Whilst I'm happy to see Jaws 2 Finally hit BluRay, its the fact that Jaws 3 is going to be in real 3D for this BluRay release that has me feeling ecstatic.

    Roll on June.

Is it definitely going to be real 3D though? as I saw the listing and it just said 3D so could be the good old fashioned coloured glasses.

That remaster was used for the most recent DVD too and it looks amazing, finger crossed they have used it for the Blu.

I wrote this, last March on Facebook re the the most current DVD version.

In my opinion this is the best Jaws 3D has ever looked or even sounded on any home format. The picture quality is brilliant, I watched this on my Panasonic BluRay player so the movie was upscaled. Some shots still look rough and always would even on BluRay as some shots are just out of focus and always have been. For me the biggest and most obvious improvements are when Philip FitzRoyce is luring the Shark into the filtration pipe, there is more detail, the image is brighter and black levels are solid. One shot you can clearly see the shark with its mouth closed like in the attached picture, I have never noticed that on previous versions. When FitzRoyce is getting eaten you can clearly see inside of the sharks mouth from both inside and outside angles, it makes the scene even more brutal in my opinion. Right at the end when we see the body of FitzRoyce wedged in the sharks gullet you can see all the detail in there, I still cant work out if its actually Simon MacCorkindale in there or a dummy, Simon MacCorkindale did tell my friend that he did all his own stunts in the movie so it could be and cleverly edited. Ultimately if you're partial to a bit of Jaws 3 then this is clearly the best 2D version of the movie to date, brilliant. If Universal used this print for a 3D BluRay I'd be absolutely blown away.

I wonder what made them all of sudden decide to put out the sequels, the perfect time was when the first arrived on BD.

I know I'll end up buying all of them but I can see Jaws 2 being a day of release purchase and the other two being a 2 for £10 moment of madness at some stage next year.

Nothing has been announced, guess it depends on whether they decide its worth it or not.

If you've never had the pleasure of Jaws 3D in actual 3D, I'd recommend grabbing it buddy.

What have we previously told you (many times) about the region code on ALL Universal studios Blu-rays?
Why not write it down so you don't have to keep asking?

Do you have to be so disrespectful? Have you ever thought that as I get older my memory might not be as good as yours? I apologise that I don't remember every reply to every question I've asked in here.

You don't need a good memory if you write it down.

    It's like if someone asks
Q: Is Batman Begins region free? Yes, ALL Warner BDs are region free.

Q: Is The Dark Knight Returns region free? Yes, ALL Warner BDs are region free.

Q: Is The Dark Knight Rises region free? Yes, ALL Warner BDs are region free.

Just write it down somewhere that ALL Warner titles are region free so you don't need to keep asking the same question. No good memory required.

What if I write it down then don't remember where I put the piece of paper? Alzheimer's is a medical condition hopefully other members will continue to be more understanding towards my questions than you.

It doesn't affect you on the steelbook threads or remembering when to follow up on a preorder, or when to dig up old threads just as the release dates are coming up?

    Strange that...

You remember everything there is to know about the worldwide releases of Die Hard 4.0 & which countries have the theatrical cut & which have the directors cut.
    London Has Fallen Blu-ray Steelbook
Surely that's just as hard to remember?

If you have Alzheimer's I truly feel sorry for you but you do not have it and using it to get your own back on hippo99 YOU ARE TOTALLY OUT OF ORDER!!. I had to watch my mother who was a very proud woman suffer it every day in her later life and turn her into a very sad woman who could not regozisze me or any of the family and could not look after herself and it eventually killed her just last year.I know I am not a expert on Alzheimer's but I know quite a bit about it and I had to do tests on my mum in the early and late stages of the disease I have been looking though all your posts & all that you written to me seem lucid and flow easy which shows me you are not at all suffering at all from this horrible disease. When you suffer from this in the early stages the doctor's runs a simple test. Which according to your writings you do not suffer it at all and there is nothing wrong with your memory either. I think you used as a excuse because you keep on asking the same Q and hippo was getting fed up with it.I do hope you never get it because it is a horrible disease that you can not control even down to normal body functions. You go back to being a baby having to be fed & wear nappies. What you have done with your false statement is you have not only insulted me but my mother and anybody else who suffers from this very nasty disease . Moderators can you do something about this Guy please

Come on guys this is getting quite personal and I'm not coming down on anyone side, two things Id like you ponder on and I don't mean ponder than come back with a reply, the threads about Jaws.
1/ People can have trick memory's I often leave one room to an other to get something and forget what I went for and then when I go back to the original room remember then go to the second and forget again.
2/ If you don't have Alzheimer's and use it and an excuse its pretty low.

When I saw it at the cinema in 83 it was shown as shot, in 'Real 3D'. I cant wait for the Blu Ray, I'll be eight years old again lol.

For anyone interested, there is a nice bit of info on Wiki about the shooting process for Jaws 3D.

Jaws 3-D - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Historian R. M. Hayes says that the film was shot using both the Arrivision and StereoVision single strip-over-and-under units.[18]Both cameras were used in conjunction with each other. This is a means of shooting 3D movies in normal color with a single camera and single strip of film: the Arrivision 3D technique uses a special twin-lens adapter fitted to the film camera, and divides the 35 mm film frame in half along the middle, capturing the left-eye image in the upper half of the frame and the right-eye image in the lower half – this is known as "over/under". This allows filming to proceed as for any standard 2D film, without the considerable additional expense of having to double up on cameras and film stock for every shot. This system allows 3D films to be shown in almost any cinema since it does not require two projectors running simultaneously through the presentation – something most cinemas are not equipped to handle. According to the company that built the underwater camera housings for Jaws 3-D, the underwater sequences were shot using an Arriflex 35–3 camera with Arrivision 18 mm over/under 3D lens.

Does that mean the original resolution was halved like those side-by-side/top-bottom 3D broadcasters use?
