Japanese Retailers

    from reading these forums it would seem that the Japanses do some cracking limited editions and boxsets,

    the obvious question to this is why dont we get them over here on R2 or even R1?

    Also do all DVDs sourced from japan (CDJapan, HMV.Co.jp etc) have Japanese menus

    As for why we don't get the same kind of limited edition sets, I can't say. I guess it must be something to do with the Japanese penchant for DVD technology and hi-tech electronics.

    The second question, r.e. Japanese DVD menus - the vast majority are in Japanese katakana (symbolic Japanese language) and have no English wording. As such, until you get used to it, it's a case of try a menu option and see where it leads. Obviously, some will be easier to navigate than others.
