Can UK Nintendo DS games be played on a Japanese Nintendo DS?
Yep, there isn't any region coding on DS games
Can't see what is so funny AML.
see, you people are being strongly influenced by your fake local education. most of you guys have been somewhat brain-washed to think 'you should only buy games and consoles from the UK, and something outside will not work', haa, it's really sad and I feel sorry for you guys. I guess the business men in UK is a little succesful on brainwashing you guys~ they would love the regoin lock to exist asap for sure~ lol
Georgeshadow, Not sure what that load of insults is all about If you had taken the time to read a few more threads in the forums you'd realize that most of us here regularly import games and consloes from all countries. Probably 60-70% of us have PSP's from Japan or US.
If people want to ask a simple question, they should be able to do so without being abused, lets keep the forums friendly
Georgeshadow, your contribution to the thread I started was really useful - thanks for the benefit of your knowledge.
With a complete lack of knowledge of my situation you have decided to insult me, my education and my intelligence. For your information, I already own consoles from other countries - an N64 purchased while I lived in Japan which I have modded to allow me to play UK, US and Japanese games, and UK Gameboy and Gameboy Advance handhelds on which I have played UK and Japanese games. My question was asked to make use of the wealth of knowledge that people on this forum have before I asked by sister-in-law, who lives in Osaka, Japan, to buy a DS for me.
yea, my apology to you guys I just feel sick when I see the ppls (mostly from US) asking stupid questions and talking things like all being created by them (but indeed they just copied the stuff from others).
I see now this forum has some nice gamers
I also lived and worked in Kanagawa Jap, and I used to play Jap games since I was a little child (now I'm 26 )~
Georgeshadow, thanks for being big enough to apologise.
I too used to live in Kanagawa - Ikuta (Kawasaki) on the Odakyu line.
oh~ I was living in Kousa-shibuya, same on odakyu line
I live near shin-yokohama in kanagawa!
I moved here from Tokyo.
Sorry, my lol before was because I thought it was funny how short the conversation was.
I also used to import from Japan when i was living in UK, but decided it would be cheaper if I just moved here.
oh cool, i went to shin yokohama almost every week when i was living there. But if I were you, i will prefer living in Tokyo~ (however now I dislike Japan as a nation as their politics ppls now are trying to get things back to war, plus they never face nor accept their wrong doings during the WWII, shameful)
by the way, as I said the UK business men are only a little successful on brain-washing the UK ppls (obviously most of you guys aren't being affected), now they are trying to sue lik-sang from importing business~ haha, very shameful~ they have failed to brainwash their ppls, now they can only do something rediculous as this to stop the importings~ this world will never be peaceful with ppls like these
I never want to Shin-Yokohama when I lived in Kanagawa - furthest South I went was JR Kawasaki, where I used to work. AML, I envy you living there now. I spent half of the nineties in Japan, came back in mid-'99 with my Japanese wife and family, and have been itching to go back to live ever since. Two weeks every other year doesn't do the business. Enjoy!
Living here has its good points. I got a PSP on the launch day and I was in Akihabara with some friends camping out over night in line! Best time EVER!
Ill do the same when PS3 comes out!
But like what you guys are doing, I will import a 360. I dont think should buy a Jp 360 as the first XBox didnt do very well here.
Even in japan we have to import stuff!
It is good that handhelds dont have region locking, I still dont understand why consoles do. Most people wouldnt bother importing, just a few hard core gamers.
The language barrier is probably one reason most people wouldnt.
The fact that they are trying to sue a minor company like lik sang only goes to show peoples greed.
Lol. I hope thats not the only reason you moved there!
hum, i think u can get the new stuff faster at other cities instead from akihabara (but it will do you good if you brought your foreign passport with you as it will be tax free there)
you don't understand why consoles have region locks? because the nations want to keep their ppls money and profits within the countries, and because mankind is stupid and selfish, this is the reason.
they sue liksang because they are helpless by their own kinds and because they are outdated that they can't really do anything. They do something rediculous to the successful business to show their stupidness
That was one of the main reasons if not the only one.
I calculated that if I stayed in the UK and continued to import at the prices I was paying, that it would indeed be cheaper to move here and just get stuff as it comes out.
Of course I work and earn more money than I did before which also helps!
Cool, I wish I had the guts to do that. I hope to live somewhere else at some point, but the problem is I do get comfy in one place and dont like change!
I don't mind moving I left all my family and friends behind just to buy cheaper houses up North and in a few years I'll probably be moving to Sweden with my other half
Whats it like in Japan you lucky bast, I'm hopefully going there next year
