    Cliffhanger,
    Shawshank redemption

All will be reviewed on this site and Totaldvd including those which tee has mentioned, thanks to our friends at www.cdjapan.co.jp in the next few days. Check out their site, very reasonable prices.

Not sure if im the only one.....but when you add delivery to any orders, plus the standard import charge due to The (dick turpin)royal mail/consignia!,ordering from japan online is just like the lottery!BEWARE!!!!
I bought Shawshank redemption(dts)from hmv-japan,paid £36!!!!!including shipping and still had to pay import/vat/handling fee of £13.85!!!

Hi maggie - just thought I'd add an extra comment - I've been to Japan a couple of times, and the prices on the street for DVD's and CD's really are quite high. Most shops that I managed to find (last year) seemed to charge a standard £14 for CD's and £20 for DVD's, and bargains were hard to find.

I'm unsure as to prices in Iceland, but here in UK the high street shops are constantly competing with each other with various offers.

Second-hand (previously-owned) goods are cheap though; ask your friend to look out for the smaller shops (mainly selling console games) and CD market stalls.

    Good luck !

Surely this is due to customs tax,not the Post Office?...any postage fees will be paid to the Japanese mail service.

Are the japanese dvds cut like the british dvds? Also,if a japanese dvd has dts on it does that mean eventually that it will have dts on the usa version one day? For example the new extended version of dances with wolves in region 1 is non dts but the japanese version is, should i wait for it to be released in dts or should i buy the japanese one now?there are so many titles i want that are in dts but only available in japan.

Kinji Fukasaku's Virus 2 disc box set DTS.
Not sure how much you would term this a japanese film, but I love it.

I have the region 1 DD5.1 version of Cliffhanger, can u do a comparison because after reading the melonfarmers anti-censorship pages i noted it was pre-cut in America for an R rating and i wonder if the Japanese version is different, also the sound quality on my region 1 is superb id like to know if DTS adds even better sonics to the equation.

If they was more reasonably priced I would buy some of those but to pay £26 plus and get stung by customs would really pee me off.

All depends where u buy them from... I rarely pay more than £20 with postage..and usually no customs.
