Just got this through today from www.cdjapan.co.jp and we will feature a review in a week or so.

I have to say that the packaging IS the best i have ever seen for a DVD Special edition! It is leather bound (Real Leather) with a clip to secure it. Inside is a compartment the size of a good hardback book containing a cardboard sleeve with Two Amaray cases inside. These contain the 4 discs. Disc 1 and Two include the extended version of the movie in dts! the third discs has the original cut of the film in DD. The forth disc has the extras. In a small sleeve on the oposite side is a booklet with production notes in Japanese.
This set just looks the business, and hopefully Matt will enjoy reviewing it, after i have had a look mind you!

Sorry about the poor scans, i had to sqeeze it in there. How much does it cost? Around £60-70 and remember the customs charge if you get caught.

The original R1 2-disk release is also full bitrate and can still be had from a few places - I picked mine up while in the US last year.

Has anyone got any experience of using www.cdjapan.co.jp ? How long do they normally take to deliver?

Just ordered it from them - 11,245.00 JPY in total (inc p+p) - thats £60.30

Thats the most expensive DVD I have ever ordered! I really hope I don't get stung by customs as well! I am really nervous now! :(

I'm still drooling over those pictures. The set looks amazing!!
I think my single disc region 1 copies days are numbered. This has got to be a must buy! I don't think you will ever loose money with this set. It's bound to be a good investment for the second hand market if for any strange reason you decide to sell it.

I've ordered it from Movietyme. They always label the packaging as value under $18, so it should fly through customs!

    Thanks for the info Phil.:smashin:

I should hopefully have my review up by the weekend of this set (had it for over two weeks now). Just taking a rest after my Japanese X2 review.

I can confirm that the casing is not leather, it's plastic. You can smell it as soon as you open it. The DTS is full rate and there are no subtitles espeically for the Sioux speaking parts. There are English subs, but you have to either watch the entire film with the subtitles or manually switch them on during the Sioux-speaking parts.

The transfer for the extended version is great, and the audio outstanding.
