There is no telling if these titles are going to be full bitrate dts or not.
The only thing that can be said is that most of the time Japanese dvds are full bitrate so let's hope these are to.

I'm sure the core will be as it's by the same people that did the DTS Armageddon which is full bitrate.

Not all releases have full bit-rate (X-Men 2 doesn't but it still has
    an excellent soundtrack).
Bare in mind that T3 and POTC will have a dts soundtrack
on the R2 UK release and will be considerably cheaper than
the Japanese version so, if I were you, I'd make sure they were
full rate before buying - unless you prefer ntsc over pal of course.

I tend to use Movietyme for Jap titles because there's no hidden costs with postage and customs charges. I emailed them last week to find out if they are stocking the mentioned preorders and some titles that I missed like Cutthroat Island dts edition.
They replied stating that they are presently looking to expand their import disc range in the very near future and the titles should be appearing on the site shortly.
As for T3 I'm probably going to go for the Jap version as I prefer NTSC. Always looks better on my system. Less flicker and no Pal speed up. No BBFC cuts and if we get a dts full bit-rate soundtrack it will be a bonus!

I reckon they will be half bit rate.. as most are I have found..

    notable exceptions :

    Harts War
    Blade
    Sixth Day
    Total Recall
    The Transporter
Original DTS Releases (Tomb Raider/Cliffhanger/Armageddon/Cutthroat island/Hard Rain)

Also for POTC the R1 is getting a DTS track as well.. though I have kept my order for it with amazon.co.jp.

Lets keep out fingers crossed, but your probably right!

Good news about True lies. I always considered the THX approved region 1 disc to be a very poor transfer for such a massive film. Hope we get a new remastered transfer & dts full bit-rate soundtrack to boot! Well I can dream.......

Only hmv.co.jp mentions these new DTS releases.. neither amazon or cdjapan has them listed yet ? Bit odd if you ask me!

Why should it be odd ?!? Maybe they got the info earlier than cdjapan or amazon.

HEAT R3 Korean Version is incorrectly framed. 1.85 as opposed to 2:35. I think......someone confirm???? Its been a long time, can't remember.

Me again! Just to comment further on what Matt Horne stated about Tomb Raider. The original Japanese limited print 2 disc edition was full bitrate dts. However at the time CDJapan only this listed as 5.1 only! Infact so did Amazon JP. I had this title on pre-order for quite some time so I was confused as to why this title was listed properly when the japanede ads for the disc were quite clear in stating dts.
Anyway once this first edition was out of print a new 1 disc half bitrate version was released. This version is still available. I have to admit, for me the difference between the R1 5.1 track & the Japanese full bitrate dts track is HUGE! The surrounds are amazing.

Another jap DTS title, half bitrate though, but sounds AWESOME! is Final Fantasy. The Cell sounds quite good in DTS aswell.

Your right, forgot to mention that! Side (A) has the correct anamorphic 2.35:1 version with a DD 5.1 soundtrack and side (B) has the cropped anamorphic 1.85:1 transfer with a DTS 5.1 soundtrack. Still the best version presently available.

I would love Tomb Raider with a full DTS bitrate track, i remember reading somewhere that Germany has a DTS version with 24/96 bit encoding and i wish someone would review that version, anyone know if its possible to pick up Tomb Raider in DTS and if the sequel is going to be available in Japan in DTS.

Does anyone know whether black hawk down - the Japanese or the Korean superbit releases are full bit rate dts ?

Also - is it worth odeing the transporter for the full bit rate soundtrack - i mean is it a great sounding disc ?

The Transporter has a great DTS soundtrack but I doubt you'll find it because it's out of print in various stores.

I have the Black Hawk Down Superbit Deluxe and that Japanese version and I prefer the Superbit edition, it sound just awesome and you have the extra's :D

Tomb Raider DTS does sound very good, much better than any other soundtrack I heard from other regions.
Tomb Raider 2 is released by the same company that released the first movie in Japan so I think the chance that there will be DTS on this one is very good.
I'll buy it in an instant ;)
