Apologies if this has been covered before. I've tried Googling it and can't find a decent answer. Everyone seems to be saying different things.

I live in the UK and imported a Japanese DS Lite. I was told all DS Lites are the same and I would just need to use a UK charger. I did this and my DS Lite won't charge. It has exactly the same voltage etc written on the back as a UK DS Lite does so I don't understand the problem. The DS arrived charged and has been working. The charger is clearly getting electricity into it as it has a light on it which comes on when it's plugged in.

    Can anybody help?

Hmm, it should work, what charger are you using, is it official or third party, also is it mains or USB?

Have edited the title of your thread from "importing" in order to reflect your problem better and hopefully gain more attention.

Thanks. I'm using a 3rd party mains charger.

I wonder if that could be the problem, what brand is the charger(in case anyone here knows of any faults)?

It doesn't have a brand name on it. I've tried to take a pic but my camera's having trouble focusing on all the text. The pic is attached and this is what it says:

    For NDS Lite

    Compact Power Adapter

    Power Supply - Double Insulated

    INPUT: AC85V~265V 50Hz/60Hz

    OUTPUT: DC 5.2V = 320mA

Do you have any friends with a DS Lite so you can test your DS with their charger? At least would confirm if it's the handheld or the charger that's at fault.

Yeah I know someone who lives half an hour away so I'm going to go round there tonight. Fingers crossed it's just a dodgy charger.

I got it working on my friend's charger so I'd just ended up with a dodgy one. That's a relief that my DS isn't broken! Thanks for the help.

No problem, happy to hear it's just the charger and not the actual DS:smashin:
