    Hi, first posting ;)

does anyone have any experience with the Jamo SW400e sub - am looking to buy used (cheap) for a small system just to fill up the bottom end for my Paradigm Micros.

How's it do for music? I only found one review on HCC in a home cinema (obviously) context

    slam 2 /5
    depth 3 /5
    precision 3½ /5

I'm not looking to put it in a movie system and can do without slam and depth, and precision looks ok.

anything I should be looking out for, it's about 5 y.o.

    thanks

I wouldn't spend too much money on it.

The link that you pointed to had a couple of interesting quotes "I wouldn't recommend this to an enemy" and "Sadly this box nearly holds the record for being utterly outclassed for price and performance in any tested group ever. Oh dear, sorry Jamo, maybe this should only be sold at computer stores?"

Surely those two quotes say it all.

You got to love that conclusion, it really does say it all.

    FeisalK What's the budget?

If you have the budget i'd say something like a BK XLS200 (£300) but if not you might want to keep an eye out in the classifieds on this forum for BK XLS200 coming up for sale as this is a highly rated compact sub.

That's about as unanimous as this forum gets. I would start with an offer of £15.00 with a ceiling limit of about £15.00 personally.

    Thanks everyone...

*sigh* I guess I was expecting this (general and unanimous revulsion :rotfl: )

it's going for about £25 so I might give it a listen anyway, though :suicide:

it's hard to bring yourself to buy equipment when your amp costs £15 (T-amp)

    Follow up:

    I got a JBL PSW1000 instead - 100W 10" - for the same price as the Jamo

it is just nice for the little Micros ;)
