    Hello

    The set up:
    Toshiba 40" Rear Projection TV
    Sky+ Digibox
    Jamo DVR50
    Connections:
The Jamo has component, S-Video,digital optical in and out and an array of phone sockets.
The TV has three Scart sockets, S-Video, Digital optical out and phono sockets.
The Sky+ has two Scart, S-Video, Digital optical out and phono sockets.

First question, the best way to connect everything up?
For ease of use I have used Scart for all connections as follows:
Sky+ box vcr socket to Jamo
Sky+ box tv socker to Toshiba

The second question is that I have noticed a tinny sound to the speakers when I am using the TV or Video mode through the Jamo system. It's at higher volumes and it sounds like an electical cracking. Difficult to desribe the sound really. The thing is I don't believe it is the speakers, because I don't get the same problem when playing DVD's.

Has anyone had this problem with the Jamo system?
Can anyone suggest anything which may overcome this?
The Scart leads I am using are the standard ones which came with the Jamo and an old VCR, so are not very good quality.

Any help would be much appreciated. :lease:

    Hi there
i have much the same system altho have a component enabled plasma Tv
connections ive used are as follows:
    jamo to screen component link
    sky+ to screen rgb scart
    sky+ to jamo optical link
all cables are good quality QED leads and have no problems with either
    picture or sound
i cant comment on your speakers as i went for the 325's from jamo and to be frank the sound is awesome
dvd quality pics are noticably better than the sky+ pics but thats to be expected
my advice invest in some decent cables as this does make a difference(dont go way overboard) normally theones supplied are inferior
    hope this helps
    cheers
    kevin

    Hi KevH

    Thank you for your reply.

I have tinkered with the connections and am now using the Digital Optical instead of Scart for Sky+ to Jamo and it has cured to sound problems.

So I now have Scart for Jamo and Sky+ to TV and Digital Optical for Sky+ to Jamo.

Now I have a solution to the sound problem, I'll invest in some better cables.

Can't thank you enough, this has been driving me nuts.

    :D
