Jamo Concert Centre / D8CEN - anyone own/owned/heard one of these?

    This post slightly overlaps with another thread I have running at the moment, but before I make an expensive (or maybe not so expensive) mistake ....

    Has anyone got a Jamo Concert Centre (or D8CEN as they now seem to be called)? I have Jamo Concert 8's as my front speakers and need a centre speaker. The advice I'm getting is to go for a Mission 77c1 - but I just want to double-check that the Jamo Concert Centre is not in fact the greatest speaker since sliced bread etc. etc. and I'll regret it for the next 100 films if I don't get one of those ....

    P.S. it would be driven by a Denon 3802.

    I will keep it simple. :)

    The Concert Centre is an excellent centre speaker.
    I own one, and absolutely love it's totally natural and clean/smooth sound.
    Get a demo if possible and see what i mean.

    Do a search on it, as this speaker has come up a few times in past threads.

    Getting a demo is one of the major probs I have - there is no dealer near here who sells the thing, I'd have to order it over the Internet (same is true of the Mission speaker as well though).

    The concerns I have are:

    - is the Denon 3802 up to driving it ok (I believe it is a 4 ohm speaker and the manual goes on about not using less than 6 ohms, I think)

    - it may be a bit big to balance on top of the tele (no projectors for me unfortunately)

    - it is 3 times the price of a Mission 77c1

    But it would match the Concert 8's nicely ....

    Just checked the stats and indeed the Denon says 6 ohms + whereas the Jamo is 4 ohms. Is this a problem in practice? Don't want to blow up my shiny new amp :)

    not a problem in practice, no.

    the 3801/2 is a fairly powerful amp, so you should have no problems unless you are using it extreemly high levels
