Does anyone know if the SE versions of the films are included or is it the standard version?

NSNA was never considered a 'true' Bond film as it wasn't made by the 'Broccoli' studios. It came out at the same time as Octopussy and IMHO is a total waste of time. I fell asleep watching it. It is also supposed to be a 'spoof' remake of Thunderball but without the fantastic sets, stunts, and gadgets (and humour!) of the original and with an aging Connery trying to convince us he is the better bond than Moore.

Also missing is another 'non-official' bond film, Casino Royal, which is another comedy.

    ----

Nevertheless this is a lovely box set (In a metal tin box with all the dvds having a matching design on the edge of the spine that when complete makes the Bond gun logo), and I bought it last Xmas for the bargain price of £85.00 from choices. It is being sold cheap as the films are due to be re-issued again soon re-mastered with more special features, etc.

At £3.35 a film you can't go wrong. :smashin:

I believe this is the reissue with SE versions, release date 14-11-2005.
I think it must be a misprice but I've ordered it to see what happens.

Don't forget you can get an extra £2 off if you use the code GX9732

Great find, thanks - I've ordered it and hope it is honoured. Anyone thinking about it I'd act quickly as they had a big WWE DVD boxset on at a really good preorder price for about 10 days but now it says 'deleted' and it can't be ordered, though those that have preordered it still have their orders open in their accounts. This maybe a completely different case but there are definitely some ghosts in the system that is the HMV website since they moved operations to Guernsey.

Despite what the RRP says according to other DVD sites the RRP is £129. This still makes it a cracking price tho' as others seem to be selling at £99

Warning picture is definitely that of the original box set that came out 2 years ago with the original releases - doubt it will be new editions!!!!!

No they are not the new editions. These will be 2007 ish - around the time of the new Casino Royale cinema release.

Don't know why it has a 'pre-release' heading as 'TMB' said, it is the same boxset as was released in 2002.

I got mine for £84 from Choices over a year ago - this is a good price!

I bought the futurama box set recently from choices. They had it marked up as a 'pre-release' but when I got it, it was identical to the original box set.

I have noticed that every time hmv has a sale shedloads of these tins are brought out instore with a price tag around £129 saying it's reduced from £199. Me thinks they are desperate to shift the large stock they have of them.

As far as I'm concerned it is the same one being sold on Play/Sendit/Amazon which has a pre-release date of November 14th. SE editions.

The 2002 set didn't have Die Another Day in it though.

Just checked my box set that I bought from choices (the one that replaced the 2002 edition and had the DAD 2 disk in it) and all my dvd are marked as special editions. So this 'NEW' one looks like it is the same as mine.

BTW only play.com mention the words 'special editions' in their description.

Just another thought, if DAD is 2 disk shouldn't the set be advertised as '21 disks'

That they do but since it has the same release date I can only assume it must be the same since the pic is also identical.

Yup, either that was the shortest hmv sale :D or it was a mis-price.

Did anyone order it at £66 ? If so let us know if you get it.

These Bond "special editions" seem to get reeled out every Xmas and then deleted in the New Year.
