how wicked is that..??
Well done Mr Cat
You jammy devil....
I was hoping to win that.
yeah, I'm soooo chuffed as when I bought my Kefs the other month, I was deliberating whether to buy a sub or not...! but the Kefs came along at a great price so I couldn't say no...!
Sell it and get one of the new SVS
just need to sell my sub, and my other speakers (old main and centre) then I can buy a new kef q6c....next week hopfully...!! nice when things like this click into place...not often it happens tho, but I knew surfing these web sites at work wasn't a total waste...!
Well done mate, the CHT R Velodynes look very nice, look forward to reading your views on it
Congratulations. Doesn't mean I have to like you though.
Nuf Said !
it's arrived this morning.....can't wait to get home and play with it...ooer missus!
MAke sure you take some pics and post them too
oh yes - will be taking lots of piccys etc...! will write an indepth review - tho, it won't be that technical...but in laymans terms!! if i get lucky, I may try and buy a centre speaker tomorrow (kef Q6c) as I'm selling my eltax's tomorrow...!
Ok folk - I received my Velodyne CHT-10R sub last Friday
when I got back home (I actually left work 20 minutes early - couldn't wait any longer!!) there was a decent size parcel in the hallway
I quickly grabbed a coffee and a quick chat with my girlfriend then went to the front room
Well, first off, the build quality is spot on, the front looks real classy too!
I then just left the sub in the middle of the room and plugged it in - even with the 'out of the box' setting, the sound was pure quality - no doubt about that..! The sound was clear and deep
I went through some of the usual test scenes that I know well
Ok - this is my first real decent sub after previously owning Eltax sub - obviously there was a big step up from this, but where the eltax really disapoints was with music, so, I then setup the Velodyne with my Nad c350 - wow, this (for me) is where the velodyne excelled itself - the sound just blew me away - now, the kef Q4s I have are amazing little speakers - if a bit light on the bass, but their clarity and soundstage is awesome, so, having the velodyne as well
well, its some combination
I played a variety of CDs, but when I played Blur's '13' - some of the tracks on there literally had me glued to the chair!
I didn't need top have the stereo on that loud for it to be effective either
needless to say, I staggered to bed around 2:30 am with a massive grin on my face!!
well, for those of you who manage to find this post - here are some pictures!!
Well done Mr Cat the Sub Looks Excellent and most importantly you are pleased with the Sound
Mr Cat, Now get yourself a Gramma to put under the sub.
Looks nice mate, glad to hear you are pleased with it
yeah - not sure if I need one tho..?? - just that the floor is concrete, not wooden floorboards...!
