Yesterday i upgraded my bd 701 to a bg808s,id been thinking about it for a while now,and wow what a machine! The picture line tripled is fantastic the best i have ever seen and more than i could believe was possible in my front room. But when my wife saw it her jaw dropped, she then screamed "youv'e done it now.its too big" and then a few minutes later came"if you die before me, ill cry for a few minutes then that thing will go before i phone anyone"Im just glad its ceiling mounted otherwise i think i would have had to sleep on it last night, after all its "big enough"CRT Projectors are the culprits,Henry, and James who installed it were fantastic, nothing was to much trouble a brilliant job im in awe as somebody said in four weddings and a funeral.I just hope the funeral bit does'nt happen untill ive had a bit more use out of my fantistic new toy. By the way Henry And James your off her xmas card list as i blamed you for everything!

I bet you £10 that James or Henry or both said....

"It doesn't look as big in the dark!!" or
"You'll get used to it and wont even see it in a few weeks"..

    I agree, good guys..

    Enjoy..

Well, Ive just done the same thing upgrading a Sony 1001Q to BG808. I still don't have permission to bring it into the living room. I am trying to arrange the projector vertically with a 45 degree mirror (see my other post) as this will probably be the only way I can get it accepted without building an extension to the house.

I also, have to consider a scaler of some form so that I can demonstrate that the picture is better than the Sony. I'm busy looking out for the most economical solution that allows for future improvement. A prgressive scan player would be the cheapest, but I gather doesn't hit the "sweet" spot for the projector, and will not allow scaling of other video sources.

Theres an ISCan ultra in the for sale section right now, alternatively my Extron DVS-150 may well be available in around 2 days if the person who bought on eBay for a stupidly low £350 +PP doesn't make contact. He's out of time tonight but I want to give him another day or 2.

[Edit at 20:24 - He just mailed me, looks like my Extron's gone.

    Mark.

Look at a Lumagen Vision/Vision Pro scaler. Very highly recommended, should have one myself very soon for my Barco D600.

Glad and sorry (for myself) that the Extron has gone. I'll have to consider the lumagen again. Does anyone have a UK price for the Vision, the US site lists it as $999.

CRT Projectors have it listed at £1049 inc VAT and delivery.

I have one on my BD808s - brilliant.
