I had my ISF calibration today! and all I can say is Thanks Gordon  .

I had to stay in :D and watch Gladiator this afternoon!! so much for a day at home working!!

So what's next?? Lumagen on the Plasma or save up & go the whole hog for a projector?? (with a Lumagen of course!)

anyone thinking of the ISF experience then think hard it's worth it IMHO - :smashin:

All I can say is it's worth every penny!

I had read all the posts with people boasting about ISF etc.. I was also sceptical about the benefits.

I finally gave in and it's a bit like you don't know what you don't know if you know what I mean! (god too many knows!! LOL)

For me it wasn't until Gordon actually showed me the difference in PQ whilst changing the settings (before & after). I sat through everything & saw it for my own eyes it was amazing the difference a little +/- here & there makes.

I now also understand why copying someone elses screen setup won't necessarily work.

It was also good to understand some of the finer adjust features on my setup!! beats reading / understanding the manual!

One set in the Kitchen & two upstairs in the Bathroom!

The scaler is a leap too far for me at the moment I also will need convinving that my Eyes will see the difference (looks like a Demo is in order!!)

I ran out of time...had to see another forum member with an Optoma RD50 later in the afternoon. If I'd been more on the case I'd have pulled the HDP Pro out of the boot.....Oh well.....back around CW's way next month I think.....might have to drop by and leave a little black box for an evening or so...hahahaha....

A title of "I've been done" would have had me worried too! Glad to hear you are a convert! A bit of +/- here & there makes all the difference.

On step at a time mep! - still excited over this improvement!

Mrs Mep must be related to Mrs Whelan!! - she weighed me up quite quickly!! :rotfl:

Gordon I'll get the summer out of the way & then yes a demo would be excellent.

I also have to give the Wife sometime to get excited about her new car she just ordered today - Wait until that novelty has run out & I'm in the clear!!

'stone' me!....if she gets a new car...must be worth a set of scalers! :)......

Piers....it would be nice to take advanatge of all those +/- settings which do nothing perceptible when played with in isolation

Over the next few weeks I will be purchasing a Panasonic 42" plasma screen, If I wanted to have this calibrated (I live in Cheshire) what would be the "ball park" cost & how long (typically) would it take to calibrate?
I also own a Sony Rear projection TV (60") which since I have switched from NTL to Sky (1 week ago) I am convinced that the picture quality has dropped, It now appears to have a "fuzzy" edge to the picture which is really annoying, could this TV also benefit from some expertise, or am I pretty much stuck with it?
Would the cost double for two TV's or could I expect a discount, I suppose "you buy one you get one free" is unlikely to happen :smashin:

Piers has his pricing guide on his site, www.homecinemaengineering.com gordon has a similar site with details www.convergent-av.co.uk ...Piers is closer, just down the M6 from you so why not drop him and gordon a line for a quote, it will take 2-3 hours per display depending on inputs etc

I know that Gordon doesn't charge for petrol, just flat fee of £250.- don't know if that covers just one display.

    Have you e-mailed him?

As Mal & HD have said normally takes 2-3 hours per screen mine did, Gordon charges flat rate £250.

Better confirm with either Gordon or Piers as to your exact requirements.

    Conor.
