ITV1 HD has been announced in the recent ITV strategy review. Although it is announced as a freesat offering, i hope that it would be a welcome addtion to VM.

Let's hope there's more to see than the ITV HD technical trial from last summer for Telewest folks. "March or Die" or "The Chalries Angles Story" anyone.

Sorry that this thread is really based on hope and speculation - but i dont think that makes me a bad person.:)

    Welcome news indeed.

Let's hope that other channels follow suit soon after in order to maintain their own viability - and let's hope even more that VM actually provides these channels for us to.

Anybody know when (and if) the HD version of the History Channel will available on VM.

Charlies Angels was alright the first few times :D

Seriously though, F1 in HD would be good on ITV. I seem to recall reading somewhere that Bernie Ecclestone was keen to go HD for F1 (now that it's finally broadcast in 16:9 this season:thumbsup:) Does anyone know if it's shot on HD equipment yet? (sorry, way off topic )

Seriously I have to see ITVs HD to believe it. They have the worst picture quality on telly.. they will probably have the worst for HD too.

The PQ on the trail last summer was prety good, especailly a show reel that had showing various buildings shot from a helicopter. The guerkin one was particularly good.

Don't forget that there's next years Footy Euro Championship to enjoy. Hopefully England will be there, but i'll be watching anyway. Of course, there's no news about HD yet, that i have seen, but i'd say it's likely. We had the WC 06 in HD and reports are that South Africa are upgrading to have HD in 2010. The rugby WC is in HD (but just not to us).

F1 in HD would be pretty cool. I have to say that i cant think of any 'record series' on my V+ drive that are on ITV (and i have about 15 of those, albeit not all are on at the same time of year).

According to this http://www.trustedreviews.com/tvs/news/2007/09/19/Channel-4-HD-Launches-In-December/p1, Channel 4 will launch their HD channel in December, but for the moment it appears it will only be available on Sky HD and Virgin's V+ services. Nothing mentioned about BBC's Freesat service next year, though.

Hopefully we might have F1 in HD next year then!!

BBC have just announced the go-ahead for HD service later this year of up to 9 hours a day. Announcement said that it will only be available to viewers with satellite and CABLE. I hope that means that it will be part of the Virgin HD offering and that the Channel 4 service will also be available. Looks like I might be considering upgrading the V+.
