    Hello,

    I have 2 questions please:-

    (1) I have lost 'ITV news' on my freeview box. Cant get it anymore, my signal strength is quite strong, up to 96% in some cases. I tried to retune all the channels, but it made no difference. Anyone, know anything about this please?

    (2) Also, I am thinking about connecting my sagem freeview box up to the hi fi. Are the digital radio channels available on the freeview box the same as DAB radio channels ?

    much appreciated,

    (1) Off the air until March.

    (2) Do you mean, is it the same selection of channels, or do you mean does each channel broadcast the same thing as its DAB equivalent? If it's the first, then see here http://www.freeview.co.uk/whatson/radio.html .

    thanks,

I meant if it was the same selection as you would get if you were using a dedicated DAB receiver ?

Is there a difefrence in quality ?

I looked at ITV news last night on my freeview box, I need to be a bit more patient, and it flashed up with the fact that there was some maintenance work being carried out

Freeview only has a few radio stations, but DAB has dozens if not hundreds!

Many broadcasters such as the BBC use low bitrates on DAB to squeeze more channels onto the system, so the quality has often been refered to as being worse than FM. Freeview radio seems to be a higher bit rate and therefore better quality than DAB, but as stated above the selection of stations is limited.

For the record, I receive 24 radio stations via Freeview and 38 via DAB in my area.

DAB radio channels are not as good quality sound as the same channel on freeview.
