Hi, I have Phillips digibox that I have had for years and I have heard that others work better in terms of channel switching speed etc. Has anyone got any opinions on which is the best box to have? Do Sony do one as the rest of my kit is Sony? I'm happy to cancel my subscription and then start a new one in order to get a new box. Is there any way I can choose which box I have, maybe buying from a shop?

    All help appreciated.

    Steve

Rumour has it that there exist 500 Sony built ITV Digital boxes as a sample group. Never seen one ,never met any body who has one, but have only heard about them from a knowledgeable independent dealer.

This is the stuff that myths and legends are made of !!

For FTA the Sony tuner is just about the best available - however you will need to buy the TV as well.

However the OnDig CAM is slow!

I'd recommend Pioneer or the newer Pace (735) - the one with the card slot visible on the front (ie not hidden behind a panel). Avoid Nokia, Philips. The Pioneer is the prettiest.

Must admit I find the Philips box to be pretty nippy in changing channel - better than my Pioneer or Pace boxes

might be down to the transmitter perhaps - mine is Sutton Coldfield
