I have just had to reinstall itunes due to crash

I am concerned that when I plug the ipod in itunes will delete all the music on the Ipod. Obviously what I want to do is to now transfer all the music of the ipod onto itunes

What do I need to do and watch out for

Reinstalling iTunes shouldn't delete your music files on your computer.

Make sure that iTunes Preferences is set (under the Advanced tab) to locate your old iTunes Music location. Then all your music will be imported into your Library as usual. Then you can dock your iPod happily.

To transfer music from the ipod to your PC use ipodcopy - google it. Will save you having to rip all your Cd's again.
