iTunes with QNap TS-210

Trying to work the itunes server that is built into the NAS.

It works, and shares with ipad and ATV2, BUT only when my laptop is on and itunes is open.

My music is all stored on the nas, so I'm guessing it should be on all the time?

Something else I need to do?

Apple have gone out their way to break 3rd party DAAP servers. I'm thinking their clients will only authenticate to a bona-fides iTunes 10.x instance.
