ITunes or Windows Media???

I have just got an IPOD but most of my music is already loaded on Windows Media in MP3 format. I haven't tried it yet but I assume Windows Media will recognise the IPOD and I can just drag and drop my music across.

Do I need ITunes (don't download music just putting CD collection onto IPOD).

What do you think?

You have to use iTunes, as I understand it. And WMA won't play on iPods, either - sorry!

you need itunes to upload the music, if your music is in mp3 format, (stored in folders and you listen through windows media player) then its a case of drag and drop. if you have stored it in WMA files then i am not 100% sure , but normal mp3s no problem, it will just convert it for you when you transfer it over
