itunes 8.2 breaks jailbreaking

you might be able to find yourself an older version of itunes on the internet. you can then uninstall your current (8.2) itunes and install the one you download. just a though?!

Filehippo has all the older versions of iTunes, and other software aswell.

Although, it does say that the dev team can fix it but didn't plan on releasing the new tools until 3.0 is out, so even if you do update iTunes it looks like it will be sorted when version 3.0 and the subsequent pwnage tools are released.

I'll stay at 8.1 though just to be on the safeside, mines jailbroken but it wouldn't be that unusual for me to end up having to do a restore for one thing or another!

I don't think the problem is that it breaks your current jailbreak, it just breaks the ability to jailbreak a non jailbroken phone.

Yes, or to run jailbreak a second time on a phone that's already jailbroken, if you want to review the settings for example...

That's what I thought too, but that thought was contradicted above
