Following a debate almost starting in another thread, here's a simple poll... who do you think is/was the best big screen Batman?

ohhhh dead heat between Clooney and Keaton at this early stage. Bit disappointed at the title Ju, you normally have the best title's going.

If a moderator could please change my thread title to:

'It's the poll right? Chicks love my poll"

    I would be most grateful.

As said elsewhere Michael Keaton although not the best physique got the dark side of Batman’s personality right and was the best.
Shame about George Clooney being tagged by many as the reason for the failure of Batman and Robin. I thought it was down to a lousy script, too many villains and the wrong casting of Mr Freeze which should have been Patrick Stewart.

garrett, you were confused about the title for this thread in the other thread- it's from Batman when he says "it's the car, right? Chicks dig the car".

Very clever title thread ;) Took me a while to get it but hey, thats me

I voted for Michael Keaton as well. I still think the original Batman is the best comic book-to-film translation.

I think the Barman series was near to the late 50’s and early 60 comic apart from them over doing the comedy and hated the BLAM , SPLAT etc.
But I think Michael Keatonwas the nearest of them all to the later Batman that came about round Neal Adams stint on the comic.

    Time Gentlemen, Please?

I pick Adam West, as a decent "serious" Batman movie has yet to be filmed. Nobody is dark and broody enough to really be the Dark Knight, to date.

It was a tough decision between Adam West and Micheal Keaton. I went for Keaton as he was also paired off with the best arch-enemy ever to bless a comic screen.

I think Keaton also got the closest to playing a true dark batman.

the best batman is the animated one, the others are awful.

Keaton - being five foot tall on box doesnt help, but he was pretty dark, but Batman should be the size of a brick sh*thouse, not smaller than my mum.
West - Camper than a a row of tents
Kilmer - oh dear oh dear
Clooney - i think could be good in the hands of a decent director and with a decent script.

I had to go for Keaton. He may not have had Batman down to a science, but I don't think anyone has done Bruce Wayne better.

    Or intelligent.
I seem to remember Clint Eastwood had a walk on part in the Magnificent Obsession as a doctor and he had the use of glasses when Rock Hudson saw him use them he got the glasses, to make him look more intelligent, and Clint got non.
