I can understand buying the Jap version of vol1 as I did it myself, and it was worth it (to me), but why would someone want to pay through the nose for the Jap version of vol 2 when it got released the same all over the world?
I don't really see the point

Depending on the edited and spliced version, I will probably get that, and the boxset of both single entity films, probably from Japan, unless they release an uncut R1 version, as I can't see the BBFC ever approving it over here :(

Why won't they allow unrated versions of films over here? Why can't the BBFC treat us like adults?

If they'd bothered to send the BBFC the uncut version they'd have passed it uncut, the only bugbear with the BBFC these days is sexual violence.

The BBFC just classify what's submitted. Yes, they don't like sexual violence, but just about anything else is good-to-go now - check out a film like Ichi The Killer; they cut the sexual violence but all the extreme physical violence and torture is left intact. They don't have a problem with violence within the context of the right "certificate". Kill Bill would get an 18 like it already did, and as such just about any violence is OK. I mean, Terminator 3 gets an uncut 12 while it's an R in the states; Requiem For a Dream gets a cut R in the US (plus a parallel uncut unrated release) but an uncut 18 in the UK, same with Basic Instinct, same with Spun and countless other films. The state of censorship in the US is worse than in the UK, most cut versions of films are due to the MPAA and the studios not so much the BBFC.

I still can't see the problem with headbutts, but other than that I think the BBFC are doing a far better job than they used to. If the studios were willing to accept higher certificates then there wouldn't be the cuts we still see from time to time, like The Matrix

Apart from extra printed dvd sleeves, has the movie changed at all ???

Like Kill Bill VOl 1, had the big fight scene in color (over the standard release of black and white) ???

I have to agree that this is a waste of time (and money!). I got the collector's edition of part 1 for the different cut of the film and the t-shirt (girlfriend wanted it after seeing the film and chipped in some cash!), but this time you are paying over the odds for the same film with Japanese menus to navigate (which will take some getting used to for any non-Japanese speakers :D ).

The only difference is a generic T-shirt and the bear brick thingy, which I thought was a waste of time in the first set.

Are we absolutely, positively sure that the Jap version of KB2 is identical.
PlayUSA list the running time at 136m , cdjapan list it at 138m.

    Does anyone know for sure?

Check out the Vol 1 cover. The Japanese version, Hong Kong and Thai version all had the incorrect running time listed.

i'm waiting for the "edited as one movie" uncut (crazy88's in colour) version, then i'll buy that :)

as cool as these special editions are, its just not worth it when you *know* they are more versions due out..

Yes Asia offer free postage for orders over $39 and correct me if I'm wrong but all orders to the UK that use the cheapest form of postage and packing have the VAT paid for you, so there's no worries of a customs bill.

what are you going to do if kill Bill is cut into 1 film with the Full Colour crazy 88 fight sequence but because of volume two's slow pacing the film is completely re-edited, and parts like the O-Ren Ishi(spelling?) anime sequence could be possibly being cut out?

Anyway my point is nobody knows what's going to happen to kill Bill in the future, so if you want a completely uncut volume 1 ,I would pick up the Japanese version while you still can.
