Time for me to show off me freshly finished set-up.

I was quite happy with the set-up I had towards the end of last year, but I needed something to replace my old VCR.
I decided to get a DVD recorder and then whilst looking for info on them I stumbled across this forum

Well a DVD recorder turned into a DVD/HDD recorder, and from the for-sale section on here, I purchased a Pioneer 530H :D

That was the start of the slippery slope and I blame you all for showing fantastic set-ups on here

Maybe I should upgrade my speakers was the next thought……Canton CD201 set soon followed :smashin:

Hmmm, could do with a new amp now……..Dennon 2805……:smashin:
Now I need a DVD player too so I can sell my old cinema system (Panasonic XR System)…..a Dennon 2900 was duly bought :smashin:

Then the big one…..out went the 32” Sony CRT and along came the fabulous Panasonic PWD8

Add several new cables, ripping out the old fireplace, building a false wall, redecorating the whole room and several thousand pounds later I'm all done :D

    Piccy time :D

Previous setup with Cantons, new DVD and amp squished into the cupbpoard
NTL box wouldn't fit so it was temporarily left tilted!

    Fireplace removed and battens fitted.

    Plasterboard in place.

Whilst waiting for the plasterer, I set up the plasma on a temporary stand

    Woohoo, wall plastered

A few finished pics. The painted panel around the speakers is the same height as the opening and the same colour as the false breast, it just looks darker against the lighter background. The wooden shelf can be pulled out to access the wiring underneath.

I've had to compromise slightly with the rear speakers, would have liked them further back, but the door stopped that at one side and hiding the speaker cable at the other (hidden behind curtain).

This is an old pic before I decorated, but it looks the same except for the holes on the wall, before someone comments on them!

Not a personal fan of small sat/sub packages but your cantons look sooooooo nice in your room. The TV with the lights behind it lools quite simply sublime....WELL DONE!

That looks well good. What a transformation. You must be well proud. If I was you i'd have ALL football/movie events with your mates in there.

<Luckily/financially> I can't do that kind of thing due to constraint of bedroom setup.

Well done, very nice set up tnoy66.

It all looks very professional and clean.

I like the way you have done the false chimney breast and recessed the plasma into it, and the neon lights look the biz.

I'll rephrase it then......there's nothing else I want at the moment ;)

I did make the opening large enough for a 50" though

Thanks for all the comments folks :)

I did keep wondering if I was doing the right thing whilst everything was being done and having the room like a building site for ages, but now it's done I'm very happy and it was worthwhile :D

Looks like a quality build tnoy66, i bet you're really chuffed with it.
Nice room you've got as well to host it all. Any chance of a pic of a movie playing in the dark with the LEDs on?

    Thanks

Thanks again all for your kind words :)

The blue lights are from Ikea, there's a thread on them here

I admit I went a bit overboard with them :D there's 3 along the top and bottom of the screen, 1 up each side, 1 under the centre speaker, 1 behind the amp and 2 inside the cupboard :D They're just held in place with blu-tac :smashin:

I've tried to take some pics in the dark with the lights on, the screen kept showing up too light, but after trying several settings I think I've got a couple worth showing
